Product Description
RT-106 is a single-component, neutral-cure silicone fire-retardant sealant developed for construction applications.
It is formulated with selected raw materials and advanced processing technology.
After curing at room temperature by reacting with moisture in the air, the product exhibits good elasticity and sealing performance.
It offers excellent resistance to vibration, cracking, high and low temperatures, and aging, providing dual functions of fire resistance and sealing.
Application Scope
-
Bonding, sealing, and fire-retardant sealing for various fire-rated doors and windows
-
Fire-retardant sealing for curtain wall expansion joints
-
Decorative and fire-retardant sealing for public places such as hotels, cinemas, and auditoriums
-
Fixing and fire-retardant sealing of electronic and electrical components, including lighting fixtures, fire cabinets, electrical boxes, cable trays, microwave ovens, and other electrical appliances
Instructions for Use
-
Clean the substrate thoroughly; ensure it is dry, free of oil, and free of dust.
-
Apply masking tape on both sides of the joint. If the joint is wide, fill the joint with appropriate backing material.
-
Cut the cartridge seal, attach the nozzle, cut the nozzle to the required size, load into a caulking gun, and extrude the sealant.
-
Apply the sealant continuously and evenly, moving smoothly to ensure the joint is fully filled. Avoid applying too quickly to prevent air bubbles or voids.
-
Finish and smooth the joint within 10 minutes after application, then remove the masking tape.
-
The product cures by reacting with moisture in the air. At room temperature, surface drying occurs within 1–3 hours.
Depending on joint depth, air contact area, and bonding strength requirements, full curing generally requires 1–7 days to achieve optimal performance.
Precautions
-
Do not touch the sealant before surface curing is complete, to avoid damaging surface flatness.
-
Ensure proper ventilation and a dry environment before the sealant is fully cured.
-
Keep out of reach of children.
-
Use the product as soon as possible after opening.
-
Not suitable for areas with continuous water immersion.
-
Not suitable for loose or powdery substrates.
-
Avoid contact with eyes before curing. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention if necessary.
