Product Description
RT-109 is an acrylic fire-retardant sealant specially designed for fire protection applications.
It provides excellent fire-retardant performance as well as effective sealing at elevated temperatures, helping to improve overall fire-stopping performance of joints.
The product meets FV-0 flame retardant grade in accordance with GB/T 24267-2009.
It is a single-component paste, easy to apply, and suitable for a wide range of application scenarios.
RT-109 cures by moisture in the air, is non-toxic, and does not release irritating odors during application.
It exhibits good corrosion resistance to construction materials such as metal, glass, concrete, marble, granite, and other building substrates, making it widely applicable.
Application Scope
-
Fire-retardant sealing for building expansion joints, door and window installation, and decorative fire protection
-
Joints with widths of 6–30 mm, including low-movement joints in ceilings and wall structures
-
Gaps around electrical cabinets, distribution boxes, and metal pipes
-
Fire-stopping for various cable penetrations, commercial pipelines, and exhaust duct penetrations
-
Suitable for multiple substrates, including concrete, masonry, gypsum board, and metal
Instructions for Use
-
Clean the substrate thoroughly; ensure it is dry, free of oil, and free of dust.
-
Apply masking tape on both sides of the joint. If the joint is wide, fill the joint with appropriate backing material.
-
Cut the cartridge seal, attach the nozzle, cut the nozzle to the required size, and apply the sealant using a caulking gun.
-
Apply the sealant continuously and evenly, moving smoothly to ensure the joint is fully filled. Avoid applying too quickly to prevent air bubbles or voids.
-
Finish and smooth the joint within 10 minutes after application, then remove the masking tape.
-
The product cures by reacting with moisture in the air. At room temperature, surface drying occurs within 1–3 hours.
Depending on joint depth and air exposure, full curing generally requires 1–7 days to achieve optimal performance.
Precautions
-
Do not touch the sealant before surface curing is complete, to avoid damaging surface flatness.
-
Ensure proper ventilation and a dry environment before the sealant is fully cured.
-
Keep out of reach of children.
-
Use the product as soon as possible after opening.
-
Not suitable for areas with continuous water immersion.
-
Avoid contact with eyes before curing. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention if necessary.
